san francisco at 66. san jose 66. concord and livermore at 62. today is the last day in the calendar year in both oakland and san francisco with a record high in the 80s. so wave good-bye to the 80s. they will be back around march. this is the time of year we can get chilly and we'll be chilly once again tonight. napa, fairfield, mid-40s. oakland 51. mountain view will wake up tomorrow to 51 degrees. there is some cloud cover beginning to move in but see that big counterclockwise swirl on the left-hand side of your television screen? it's right here. that's an area of upper level low pressure that will be heading toward us giving us cloud cover tomorrow and then giving us some rainfall beginning tomorrow night and for several days thereafter. so here comes the low pressure system. higher pressure which gave us the gorgeous weather the past several days is now moving out so tomorrow we get the cloudy skies but the rain for the most part stays offshore. by friday, the rain moves in and we look like we will be wet for friday and saturday and sunday.

this is the third pedestrian to be hit and killed in east san jose. the ninth person when you take into account the entire city of east san jose. the man, that is all we know, was jay walking after 6:00 this morning while it was still dark out and most likely raining. he was attempting to cross alum rock and was 75 feet away from the nearest crosswalk when the car ran into him. the car did speed off and did not stop or return. the police are looking for the driver. it was a dark sedan. a second vehicle, a minivan, also struck the man. that driver did stop and is cooperating with police. as far as the investigation, officers have been going to the surrounding businesses. you have four businesses on this intersection here trying to see if any of the surveillance cameras caught the accident and perhaps the person who fled the scene. down the street, the east side neighborhood center for seniors has been trying to get the city to make the alum rock corridor safer for pedestrians, especially for seniors. you have the fast cars combined with the culture of

palo alto and san jose got about one half of one inch. radar is clear now. hi-def doppler showing zero rainfall. that's how it's going to stay for a while as high pressure builds in but clear lights lead to cold nights. watch out for fog in the north bay valleys. the front moved through overnight. we got the good decent soaker out there but as we said the rain will be out of here by lunchtime. it was out earlier by that. watch the next storm where it's heading. not down toward us instead toward western washington and british columbia because high pressure is building in. it's going to create a dome of protection keeping the storm track north not just for tomorrow and friday, saturday and sunday, next monday, next tuesday. this dome of high pressure is going nowhere, which means the sunshine also will be going nowhere. it will be sunny. tomorrow and pretty much for the next five to seven days. we'll be sunny, dry and mild. now, overnight, when we get chilly this time of the year, we can see some fog and we'll see fog in the north bay valleys. lots of sunshine
